STARCROSS STEAMER, EXE, UK - Sunday 5th Feb
A lovely fresh breeze down the Exe estuary made for a great day out at StarcrossYC for the UK Southwest's largest winter sailing event.
Five RS Aeros showed their metal and whilst we didn't manage to repeat last year's RS Aero 9 victory here we did manage to keep the Cup in the family.....

This popular mixed class pursuit race is round 5 of the RS Aero UK Winter Series and the first of the 3 events that form the UKs South West Series.
Only 6 of the 100 entry limit remain.

RS Aero UK Winter Series, Round 5
Online entry opened for this popular South West event over the weekend and from the limited entry of 100 spaces available there are now only 36 left! No need to pay in advance, but you do need to reserve a space quickly to have an entry.

This is a great day out at Starcross Sailing Club racing with 100 other dinghies on the pretty Exe Estuary at the top of the tide. This year the RS Aeros are defending the cup too! As the race is one big pursuit race, RS Aeros have there own starts and can enjoy a nice class race in addition to the main event, whatever the conditions on the day.
The Starcross Steamer is Round 5 of the RS Aero UK Winter Series and you only need 3 counters from 10 events to make a series. One must be either the Winter Champs at Oxford on Sat 18 Feb or Spring Champs at Island Barn, West London, on Sat 25 March.
The Steamer is also the first of the three event South West Series, the others being the Roadford Rocket on Sun 26 Feb and the Wimbleball Beastie on Sun 19 March. That is 3 cracking locations all three of those events are on the RS Aero Winter Series this year so give them a shot!
Last winter we had 13 RS Aeros enter this popular annual event and John Donovan said it will be blue skies and a nice moderate breeze this year!
