RS Aero UK National Championships & International Open - Paignton, Devon, UK, 28-31 May

On Day 4 of the 2022 RS Aero UK Nationals at Paignton the stage was set for a nail biting climax to the end of the championship with points still close in each of the four fleets and all to play for. After Paella night in the marquee at the Club those still with energy hit Torquay’s late night scene and a few of the revellers were looking somewhat Frosty as they arrived at the dinghy park in the morning....

Many thanks to Rooster, Noble Marine and RS Sailing for their support of the RS Aero UK National Championship which has allowed sociable daily awards spread through the fleet.
The presence of our Class Juror David Battye and his instructive briefings and debriefings help sailors understand where the line of the rules are drawn, promoting fairer and hence more enjoyable racing for all.

Early Arrivals
Sailors who intend to arrive on Friday may find the gate to the South Green locked for boat drop off. Call Vanessa on 07941 385990 to open it or to get the gate code. The gate must be kept closed please.
Parking
There is a council run multi storey car park immediately behind the clubhouse and there is parking on the promenade (both are pay and display). Alternatively there is also on-street free parking on the roads behind the club.
Sailing Instructions
Are available alongside the Notice of Race on the Paignton SC Event Page
Socials
All the evening socials will be on the harbourside in marquees next to Paignton Sailing Club
Registration
Will be open for a couple of hours on Friday evening as well as Saturday morning. The timings will be confirmed on the WhatsApp Group
Rig Choice
Please confirm your rig choice and sail number at registration.
The RS Aero 9 fleet is growing based on the light forecast.
There are three demo RS Aero 6 rigs on loan and a nice initial fleet of 8 boats competing. If you are interested to use one for the championship, should one come available, please let me know.

ACCOMMODATION -
Along the Esplanade are many excellent hotels and B&B’s which will be super convenient as your RS Aero will be parked opposite on the green. You can then change and shower in your hotel, just yards from your boat and a short walk to the sailing club and bar!Paignton Sailing Club, Devon, Sat 28th - Tue 31st May 2022
ACCOMMODATION -
Locally, there are many large hotel chains, including Premier Inn (15 minutes walk) and Travelodge (10 minutes walk) and a huge variety of bed and breakfast, smaller sized hotels and campsites within the area.

ONLINE ENTRY is OPEN!
Tor Bay is one of the UK's premier Championship venues with a fantastic sailing area on the English Riviera. The bay provides shelter for safe but tactically challenging racing and has hosted many major Championships, including the Olympic Regatta 1948!
The early UK Champs in 2022 will provide an excellent build up to the RS Aero World Championships (USA) and RS Games (Weymouth) later in the summer. Four days of racing are scheduled with an option for two day entry too for the time poor. We look forward with excitement to the first RS Aero 6 Championship!
Off the water a full social programme is planned with a marquee on the harbour wall as the focus. There are plenty of local attractions to keep friends and family entertained ashore too. Paignton is a popular resort so be sure to book your accommodation early.
*Note that in 2022 the usual late May Spring Bank Holiday falls on Thurs 2nd and Fri 3rd June for the Platinum Jubilee.
