...does not stay in Filey!!!

Filey regatta has become a much loved part of the RS Aero UK Northern Circuit. This was our 4th trip to the event and this year was our RS Aero UK Northern Champs. 15 RS Aeros participated, the biggest fleet at Filey! Now, as I am sure you will have gathered, the Northern Circuit is not just about sailing, it’s a chance to meet up and socialise or mercilessly rip the pish out of each other, depending on your perspective. So with this in mind I thought I’d share how we do our race reports…..
In beautiful sunshine after an amazing days sailing we gathered on the terrace which overlooks the stunning Filey bay. On this occasion we were graced with a flock of para-gliders cruising the sea cliff who were so close we had to hang on to our beer…. The chat and the laughter flowed. The girls took the first shots at each other, the boys tried to get involved but obviously came out in tatters! Meanwhile someone was quietly taking notes on everything that was said……

Great to see 15 RS Aeros enjoying the Filey Regatta.
Keith Escritt (Yorkshire Dales) scored two 1sts to take the title from Ellie Craig (Draycote) and Iain McGonigal (East Lothian). Tom Storey (Yorkshire Dales) won the last two races to come back to clinch 4th place overall.

RS Aero UK Northern Champs
Filey Regatta, North Yorkshire, 29/30th June
Round 6 of the RS Aero UK Northern Circuit The annual Filey SC Regatta which sees up to 150 boats from all over the country competing in a series of races over two days. This is a spectacular sight for sailors and spectators alike and sees the town of Filey humming with excitement.
This year's Filey Regatta is the 4th that the Class has supported and doubles as our 2019 RS Aero Northern Championship, a perfect warm up for the UK Nationals in Scotland in July.
Online entry is open and eight RS Aeros are signed up already.
