DAY 3 - NO RACING TODAY
A two hour postponement due to a very light breeze saw the fleet basking under the hot Scottish sun and enjoying frisbee, paddle boarding, general Aerochat and other beach entertainment.
As a refreshing breeze came in the fleet launched and made their way out towards the Bass Rock. However, it remained light and patchy with large shifts and the fleet were eventually sent back ashore.

Day 2
Winds up to 20kn and big waves for surfing downwind on the outer loop provided an exciting opening day to the RS Aero UK Nationals.
The 80 RS Aero fleet launched on time and with the splendid racing conditions today the Race Team added a 3rd race to make the most of them.
Juror, David Battye, was on hand to oversee racing and the fleet had the benefit of his expertise with a pre-racing clinic to explain his processes and guidelines for making rulings on the water. when necessary

Day 1 - RS Aero Challenge Cup
The warm up day to the RS Aero UK Nationals is the RS Aero Challenge Cup with the whole fleet starting together on a PY basis.Three RS Aero 9s sailed off into the lead with Greg Bartlett taking line honours.
A bubble of RS Aero 7s followed with Richard Pye holding a slender lead from Peter Barton, Craig Williamson and Tim Hire all hot on his tail.
Ultimately the 7s prevailed after corrected PY with Richard taking the win from Peter and William Cager in his RS Aero 5 taking 3rd. Tim Hire was 4th with Greg Bartlett 5th.
60 RS Aeros finished the race held in medium winds with a good mix of each rig spread through the fleet.
The Championship proper starts on Thursday with 10 races over 4 days and a mix of conditions forecast.

PARKING - Message from Iain McG;
"The janitors at the high school are happy for cars/trailers to be parked in the main school car park to the west of the school, in front of the astroturf pitch, between Tuesday and Sunday as required. Entrance is via the main school entrance on Grange Road. The spaces in front of the school itself should not be used. They suggest using the row of spaces directly in front of the astro pitch.
The 'official' long stay car park at the recreation ground (rugby club) also seems to have plenty of room and is also nearer the town centre and yacht club."

They pointed out that there is no CCTV or security presence after 5pm so its use is strictly at vehicle owners risk.

Lots of great cycling routes around the county as well. The pretty village of East Linton, the amazing cafe at Tyninghame Smiddy, the beaches at Seacliff, Tyninghame, Yellowcraig and Gullane are all within 8 miles. There’s a great circular route mainly easy off road from NB taking in Tyninghame and East Linton, utilising part of the John Muir Way.
No better place for world class golf, and the kids’ course near the Marine Hotel is great for young Tigers!
There has been a pod of dolphins (or porpoises, not sure) hanging around our sailing area for the last week or two. Do they count as an obstruction for which room must be given during racing??

- If you fancy a day out in Edinburgh then why not catch the Train from North Berwick to Edinburgh. A 30 minute train ride will get you into the middle of Edinburgh and Princes Street and there is plenty to keep you occupied there!
- Locally, do not forget the Sail Loft Cafe at the Sailing Club too - wonderful scones and lunches there too!

Wednesday 24th: An onshore coaching session in the morning will be followed by The RS Aero Challenge Cup in the afternoon, an 'all Aeros' race outside of the Championship series.
