Round 3 of the Thames Valley Regional Mini Series
Broadwater Sailing Club, home to a beautiful nature reserve between Uxbridge and Rickmansworth held their third annual RS Aero Open Meeting on Saturday. A lovely sunny day and gentle breeze greeted 16 competitors for the latest RS Aero innovation – the Broadwater Aero Pursuit Open.
Congratulations to Andrew Cooney taking the win for the home club. Thanks to by David Cherrill for his report on the action.

The forecast - for Broadwater on Saturday is looking wonderful with a medium breeze and lovely warm sunshine!
Entry - Please email David Cherrill to let him know if you intend to come to assist in planning & catering.
Sailing Instructions - This year Broadwater SC will use an innovative pursuit race format for the three RS Aero rigs over the 3 race open. This will give the benefit of class race starts and then the fun of the chase!

Great to see 34 out at Burghfield last weekend - All set for Broadwater this Saturday!
Perhaps west London's best kept secret, Broadwater is a pretty oasis hidden away just inside the M25! As a tree lined lake with nature reserve it is a wonderfully pleasant venue for a day's RS Aero racing.

ENTRY - Enter on the day - but please can everyone planning to attend ping an email to David Cherrill so he knows numbers for lunch and racing logistics.

The Club is within 10 minutes drive of Junction 1 of the M40 or Junctions 16 and 17 of the M25. Access to the club is from Moorhall Road opposite The Bear on the Barge.

RS AERO BROADWATER OPEN Middlesex, Saturday 21st April
Round 3 of the RS Aero Thames Valley Mini Series This year is the 3rd year that the Broadwater SC fleet have hosted the RS Aeros and they will trial an exciting new format by running the three open meeting races for the three RS Aero Classes on a pursuit race basis. The new 2018 PY numbers have been crunched through a spreadsheet to work out a race length that matches start times closest to a half minute rounding for accuracy - full details in the SIs.
The benefits include having separate Class starts and the fun of the chase!
First race:11:00
Format: 3 RS Aero Pursuit Races (2 before lunch, 1 after)
Entry fee: £15, includes lunch and coffee/teas!
Broadwater is conveniently located just inside the M25 West of London and is a very attractive stretch of water with a nature reserve at one end attracting a variety of water birds. As one of the largest sailing lakes in the Thames Valley this should provide a great early season sharpener!
