Well done to everyone who turned out at the Alton Water Single Hander Open and a particular well done to Archie Hainsworth in Bolaero for taking the win with two 1sts.

The link shows a picture of Archie taking 'Single Hander Open' quite literally, looking relaxed sailing with one hand. Was it a condition of the NOR? I hope everyone else was one handed too!

Then, just in case anyone thought he fluked it, he did it again the following morning winning Alton Water's Barts Bash! One to watch for next season! RS Aero visitors from Chelmarsh and Starcross kept the level high with 4 RS Aeros in the top 5 in the 30 boat mixed fleet. Alton Water is hosting an open for single handers. This was always intended as an Aero open for 19th September. We are running it in conjunction with the final of the Tera Eastern Traveller series, so it will be well attended, with many boats out on the water. Of course the fleets will be started separately.

 

There will be three Races - Start not before 1230 and hopefully we can have a large Aero Presence in the East. Entry Fee is £5 for members of Alton Water and £10 for non members.

Alton Water has a growing fleet and is a convenient location for many other Eastern based boats and we would love to welcome you all.

 

Alton is a reservoir, open all year round (apart from Christmas Day). We hold several training sessions through the winter for a variety of classes and have and Active racing programme through the winter. In fact our Frostbite series is our premier series.
