RIVER EXE REGATTA - Devon, UK, 11-12th July

Congratulations to Mark Pollard of StarcrossYC who won the Fast Conventional Fleet at the Exe Annual Regatta with a 2,1,1,3,3 in his RS Aero 9.

This years Regatta was hosted by Starcross YC. A full complement of five races were held across the two days, with about 80 boats competing across the two courses. Winds varied not only in direction but strength too, ranging up and down the scale from Force 2 to just about 4 at times, giving nearly perfect wind conditions.

And then there was the socialising - a mini beer festival on the Friday night, followed by a great party with two bands on the Saturday, and a friendly and fun afternoon tea prize-giving on the Sunday.

Prizes were presented by Sam Woolner, from Exe Sails and Canvas, one of the event's sponsors.

It's a great event!! I've raced in the Exe regatta sailing Devon yawls and Musto skiffs over the past few years and always had a good time Unfortunately I'm away this year but I think some of the local Aero sailors will be there! Happy Sailing, Rich
