I was hoping to see some of the bowmoor boys & girls...

Sunshine and breeze, well that wasn't the forecast midweek!

What a great weekend of sailing the Start of Seasons were. The 12 of us who sailed in the differing breezes, Saturday heavy, Sunday light, were treated to great race management and really close racing. People obviously had their reasons for not choosing Northants as an event to sail at, whether the two day aspect, the venue, the preentry deadline, or others, I don't know. Bring on Chelmarsh for the one dayer in May. A beautiful piece of water with an established fleet (with at least one new arrival this week.) Hope to see more there. Matt

Just checked the forecast. That's what controls me and travelling. It looks pretty decent. BBC has 13 mph and 14 mph for Sat and Sun respectively. The surface chart on metoffice for Friday looks as though nothing stupid is going to show. There's a high in Central Southern Europe. Let's hope it stays down there. I gather Pete T is planning on going. He and I are pushing each other at Chelmarsh, I have him in a breeze, he nails me when it's lighter. Would be great to get a few others at Northants to see where we are against you in preparation for the season ahead. Matt

Advance online entry is important for the host club to gauge numbers and thus the resource required.

It will be possible to amend rig size at registration on the day. It is simply an amended entry so I don't see any formal reason this would ever not be possible.

As a Class we would never want to hinder anyone's ability to chose as it promotes safety, enjoyment & participation.

Thanks everyone. I'd be interested in a Saturday only option, especially if it encourages some of the non-Tera associated sailors to turn up and have a race.

I think 10 advance entries at this stage is quite good...but we obviously want to see more coming in now.

There was always going to be a '5 rig' bias  as it is shared with the Teras and the ex Tera sailors have enjoyed this event before and are keen to return.
Those initial two '7 rig' entries are Tera parents, so that link up all helps.

The 3 RS Aero rigs will either start separately or grouped on a PY basis, depending on entries. We will share a committee boat but have separate marks to the Teras.

Chunks - Can you chase up your locals please, there are 5 Aeros (nearly 6) at Northampton and Hollowell now.

If some people are only up for doing one day, (which I understand, hence UK Series events at Chelmarsh and Bowmoor are just one day), then lets suggest Saturday - to have a focus. Choccie bars for overnight leaders!

Ah, but it will be perfect weather, nice wind, sunny, warm and you can camp on site, loads of food available, just a great weekend away.
Chunks (not really from NSC ;o))

OK everyone - confess- where are all the Aero 9's going on 25th / 26th April?..... I was just about to enter and pay my money when I realised there is only one other Aero 9 entered! That doesn't seem worth spending all weekend at an event with so little support - one day perhaps, but not two long days (with travelling and associated costs). So the big question is really whether there will be a late flurry of entrants who are waiting to see the weather forecast.... or perhaps I need to change down to a 7 rig?... Or perhaps we need to think more about one day events for Aero 9's if, like me, people hesitate spending two days away at an event.

The RS Aero Start of Season Champs, in conjunction with the RS Teras, provides a full weekend's racing at Northampton SC - to warm up and refine your game, ready for the new season!

The plan is to share a committee boat with the RS Teras but then have a course laid to the side of theirs.

The three RS Aero classes will start together and compete for an overall result on a PY basis.

Camping available on site.
