The Pink Ribbon Regatta featured 2 circles on the water, one for optis right off of the club dock and a second one for multi hulls, board boats and Capri 16s further south from there. The breeze was more out of the right (east) and kept moving that way throughout the day but the velocity was more than predicted. 6 races were completed for all fleets with some interesting crossing situations. Newcomer to the boat David Gay showed improvement throughout the day as Bob Patterson showed the potential of the boat compared to Sunfish and ILCAs on the course.

A delicious taco dinner with vegan options followed racing before the prize giving ceremony. Several juniors, and their parents, were asking about RS Aeros, were interested in the boat and wanted to know more about it. Besides good practice, it was a great opportunity to showcase the boat.

Sunday's Turkey Trot distance race promised the passage of a cold front and much sportier conditions out of thr North. Instead of the traditional bridge and back distance format, the RC chose to keep boats close to the club in the event that the 20-30+ knots on some predictions came true. 2 starts, board boats first, going upwind 4 times and passing through a downwind gate after the 4th, and multistage who went 5 upwinds. The higher winds were more of a challenge for David and lightweight Naomi Sterlingsdottir , but Patterson once again showed the amazing performance of the RS Aero and extended on every leg of the course.

Handicap scores were calculated and Bob Patterson ended up 3rd, bagging a Cornish game hen as prize!

Both days were great opportunities to show off the RS Aeros to other singlehanded sailors and juniors, who hopefully will join us at the upcoming demo day in St Augustine in January.
