Brixham Dinghy Regatta - Devon, UK, 6th August
Thanks to Luca Mitchell for his summary report;
8 boats launched from Paignton to meet the other enties on nthe water at the Brixham race course.
Race 1 - was the windiest race seeing Zak Mitchell lead the first lap. On second lap saw Will James overtook Zak on the upwind. On the bottom reach Will James missed lthe ast mark which gave Luca Mitchell the lead at the final mark for the win.
Race 2 - Zak and Luca got right whilst Will goes left which doesn’t do as well. Zak leads mark 1 with Luca close behind. At leeward mark Luca overtakes Zak and stays in the lead to win the second race of the regatta with Zak finishing 2nd and Will in 3rd
Race 3 - The 3rd race was the lightest the wind had been all day on the start. Zak got away well but Luca took the shifts correctly and took an early lead leaving Will and Zak battling for 2nd position. Top mark saw Luca round first followed by Zak then Will. On the top reach on the last lap Zak caught Luca and it became the battle of the brothers to see who would come out on top of the last race. It was close coming into the final mark but Luca had the edge and took the final race win with Zak in second and will in 3rd.
