The Bloody Mary (Sailjuice) - Queen Mary SC, West London, UK, 7th Jan
It was a blustery day for the iconic Bloody Mary with 150 entries braving the elements! The breeze was above 20kns at the start with 30kn gusts, gradually moderating toward the end of the race. 100 of the mixed class boats finished the course.
The pursuit race finishes 150 minutes after the slowest class starts, which was the Toppers. The RS Aeros 5 started after 25 minutes to race for 125 minutes with the RS Aero 6s starting 4 minutes later, the RS Aero 7s a further 3 minutes behind and RS Aero 9s another 5 minutes later.
Congratualtions to Tim HIRE (Lymington Town SC) whose RS Aero 7 managed to come through the RS Aero 5s ands 6s to take a comendable 11th overall equaling his 11th from 3 years ago, the highest ever RS Aero finish at this event. Sam METTAM (Papercourt SC) was top RS Aero 6, just coming through the leading RS Aeros 5 of Sam BLAKER (Thorpe Bay YC ) towards the end of the race. Chase and be chased!
Well done to all the RS Aeros finishing a tough edition - everyone who turned up finished the race with no retirements!
