2022 Irish Champions Cup at Sutton Dinghy Club, Dublin, Ireland, 8th Oct
The 2022 Champion's Cup, the Irish dinghy 'Champion of Champions', took place at Sutton Dinghy Club on the 8th of October.

Congratulations to RS Aero representative Daragh Sheridan on coming 1st in his qualifier into the finals. Here is Daragh's account of a tough days racing on Dublin Bay;
'The 75th anniversary of the event formerly known as the Helmsman's Championship was held in GP14s. 16 helms were selected from a broad range of classes to take part. A huge thank you must go to the GP14 owners, who provided their wonderfully crafted boats, including a number of brand new ones so that the event could happen.
Daragh Sheridan from Howth Yacht Club the current Irish RS Aero National Champion represented the Irish RS Aero class. The sixteen sailors were split into two flights of eight to sail three races in order to qualify for the finals. Daragh with top GP crew Dan Gill managed to top their flight to progress to the final series. However, the final series as expected proved to be challenging and the pair were unable to repeat their performances of the morning races. They finished eighth out of the sixteen competitors with the first three places being filled by GP14 sailors. Ger Owens and Melanie Morris proved worthy winners with Ger defending the title and taking his third win in the event.
A wonderful dinner was held at the nearby hotel to celebrate the 75th anniversary with many past winners attending.'
