RS Aero 5 and 7 UK National Championship - Tenby, Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK, Sun 20th - Fri 25th August 2023
*Date Amendment* - The RS Aero 5 & 7 Nationals is now a few days earlier than originally publicised to fit with available accommodation week dates (starting on Fridays or Saturdays) and to avoid the busy Bank Holiday weekend.
For 2023, with four RS Aero Classes, the UK Class will run two National Championship events! The RS Aero 6 and RS Aero 9 UK Nationals will take place at WPNSA in Portland, Weymouth, over the May bank holiday, Sat 27 - Mon 29 May. Then in the high summer the RS Aero 5 and RS Aero 7 Classes will take place at Tenby in South Wales on Sun 20 - Fri 25 Aug.
This is an exciting move by the UK Class with the inclusion of the RS Aero 6 rig. With four Classes now numbers are high enough to benefit from two distinct championships and the split allows a large choice of venue options as the fleet continues to grow.
Splitting events will help protect each fleet with sailors’ commitment to rig choice not being so susceptible to the breeze.
Our keenest sailors can also compete in two RS Aero UK Nationals each year, again promoting expanding fleet sizes.
We experienced in Eastbourne in 2020 how the benefits of a two Class Nationals with simpler race course management and less delay waiting for starts.
