Home >> Video >> Light Winds at Bowmoor
and now for some Light Winds...
Playlist of 4 vids from the Bowmoor 'Lift-Off' day in Nov. Not overly exciting but some interesting technical points;
1 - Nice smooth light wind roll tack by 1007 with good fore-aft light wind trim by keeping weight forwards (abreast of the dagger board).
2 - If you are sitting or kneeling at/in the cockpit you are likely too far back, increasing wetted area and dragging the transom.
3 - Whatever you race, stay very close to the start line if the wind goes light.
4 - Good light wind acceleration at 6 seconds to go by 1068. Leeward heel...sheet in...luff up...flatten the boat...and BANG!

[we were running pursuit race starts, 30 secs delay between rigs which was about right over about an 18min race]
