|Home >> Technical >> Bungees for clew and cringle?|
It's an uphaul for the downhaul, so the Cunningham releases. It's especially useful on older sails without the elastic bolt rope.
On Marc Jacobi's Carnac video (ICYMI-- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHFiMxGWJ_4), I noticed a bungee that looks like it counteracts the outhaul. On his rigging video (https://youtu.be/-gRoDtSXz7o), he mentions a bungee around the mast through the cringle of the sail. What does that do?
Should I add those bungees---does anyone else have these on an older boat?
