Well you can't beat a good forum debate and looks like the rudder will be down only for now. Looking forward to Weymouth and the boat will be untouched :-). As for the Holbourns Matt, not sure that will happen any time soon although they were taking an interest when I saw them the weekend before last.
Brian, your not being grumpy it's just your opinion and I respect that but the guys with longer arms now have an advantage over me 'cause they can reach the end of the rudder. Tongue firmly in cheek.

Gee, I hope the answer is NO!   Dave, you state that your idea hasn't any performance issues and yet also say that weed is slowing you, so you WOULD have a performance advantage.

Its not like weed is a new problem, its not an Aero related issue, just deal with it like everyone else. Last thing we want is Aeros racing at regattas with different gadgets and systems, these boats are one-design not performance enhancing.

Sorry to sound grumpy but these boats are brilliant and we need to stop all the playing around with systems in my opinion.

Hi Dave. Try emailing Junior at [email protected] It's more of their call than anyone on here's to make. Being one design I'd say no however don't let that stop you if you have no intention of racing at a reasonable level. Nationals upwards you may get "pulled up". I see you are entered for Weymouth. Maybe a problem before then so leave for a September task. For the time being, get the Holbourns on board with an aero. M

I have asked before but with no response...Can we retro fit a rudder uphaul ?
I can't see anything in the rules forbidding it as has no performance issues (except that a boat with weed on the rudder is slower)
