That is correct, thou in ultra light winds nothing would stop you putting it above, but by putting it under it does stop it raising higher than you would want. Personally i don't think there is any advantage putting it above, it can look very untidy if it rides up.

 Hi all, just got 1115. On the 9, I presume that the tack strap goes below the button on the mast? Even in light airs?
