Sail in Different Conditions
Tine Karlson, NOR

Tine Karlson is back in Norway after her time in the Netherlands and is set to build the fleet there, ready to give the fast growing Swedish fleet some good racing! We can be so proud to hear that she is working for the Red Cross there during these difficult times. Tine explains that the key to a good all round sailor is experiencing a variety of conditions;

'Sail in Different Conditions
So many great top tips have already been shared, and it makes me extra eager to go sailing again and start testing them out. One of the things I have learned a lot from the last couple of years is to sail in different conditions. It makes you a more versatile sailor, and able to handle different situations with the RS Aero thus making learning and training all the more enjoyable. Sailing at lakes in the Netherlands, it might be key to look around the lake and sail at areas where the wind is less restricted by surrounding trees. Sailing at Lake Garda with thermal winds, it makes a difference which side of the lake has the most wind in the different wind cycles. Sailing in Melbourne taught me a thing or two about waves! Thanks to the Aussies that taught me to gybe on a surf when there is the least amount of pressure in the sail. In the friendly RS Aero fleet, the local sailors always share their knowledge of the surroundings.

Go Explore!
We all have a lot of fun training and racing the RS Aero, but it can also be used to explore. Maybe something to do if the virus puts a halt to gathering in groups? The most important thing is to bring some good food, and enjoy the journey. If you want some inspiration, check out the youtube channel of Magne Klann (@KlannTV) or his Instagram account. Two years ago he sailed more than 1000 nautical miles in his RS Aero all along the coast of Norway. Some of his videos are in Norwegian, but this one is in English: https://youtu.be/HmyTkY36Xcg. '
