I have just received from RS a replacement halyard cleat to go at the top of the top mast (plus 2 rivets). I was a little surprised to see that it is alloy. The original is plastic, whilst it has lasted 3.5 years of heavy use, I am happy to replace it with a more robust alloy one with negligeable extra weight - but is it legal?
Do new boats now have alloy halyard cleats?
