You can whack on a huge amount of vang/kicker, but the mast will only bend so much that way. The boom will bend upwards since the sheet is not right off the end of the boom like it is on a laser. Remember the traveler is forward, so it's a different sort of rig. You can bend the mast aft too far with the vang and sheet, but you can't stretch the luff of the sail that far and keep the sail flat/efficient.
If you bend it by pulling the luff as hard as possible, you are probably not doing the sail any favors, and not allowing the mast to bend to leeward to spill off wind up top, and not allowing the sail to twist up top to do the same. Also, you probably can't pull outhaul on if you've maxed the vang out. I know other people have much different formulas, but when sailing upwind in heavy breeze, I pull in outhaul first, then cunningham and THEN the vang. The outhaul is much easier to pull first when there's less tension, cunningham should always be pretty easy to set as far down as you want, and it's a good idea to set your min/max vang to prevent vang overkill. There is a lot of range in all of the settings to shape the sail efficiently.

Is there a "two-blocked" mainsheet equivalent for the RS Aero?
[Editor - By 'two-blocked' John is likely refferng to the Laser's tendency to sheet all the way in until 'block to block']
