ENDEAVOUR TROPHY 2017
UK Champion of Champions contest
How did they all get on?

Of the RS Aero sailors;

Nick Robins & Billy Vennis-Ozanne (29er) were consistent with all counters in the top 16 to finish 11th overall.

Team Rooster, Stephen Cockerill & Sarah Cockerill (2000), came close to winning a race, only succumbing to the event Champions at the final windward mark to take a 2nd.

The Radial/RS Aero 7 alliance of Ben Whaley & Sam Whaley showed some great form with a couple of 2nds on Sunday and half their results in the top 10. However, they ultimately fell one result short of a series, spoiling their chance of a top ten overall.

The level of talent is relentless at the Endeavour. Every place gained is a victory. All those taking part will have gained valuable experience from competing in such a fleet of experts and many of those skills will be transferable between different classes - even back to RS Aeros!

Well sailed to everyone!

ENDEAVOUR TROPHY 2017
UK Champion of Champions contest

Good luck to all the RS Aero sailors taking part in the Endeavour Trophy this weekend - the UK Champion of Champions contest for those who have won a UK National Championship. The event is held on the tidal waters at Burnham on Crouch in RS200s.

This year the RS Aeros have no direct entry due to other commitments. The RS Aero 5 champ Andrew Frost has school commitments, RS Aero 7 champ Sam Whaley is sailing with his brother Ben in a Laser Radial / RS Aero 7 alliance and RS Aero 9 champ Peter Barton has just returned from the RS Aerocup in Italy.

However no less than 10 accomplished RS Aero sailors are taking part representing other classes;

Laser Radial - Ben Whaley & Sam Whaley
Sam is our UK National Champion in the RS Aero 7 from 75 entries in that class (a record!) and has joined forces with brother Ben who finished 2nd in the RS Aero 7 UK Nationals and won the Laser Radials.

2000 - Stephen Cockerill & Sarah Cockerill
Go Team Rooster! Steve was our RS Aero 7 World Champion in Carnac France this summer and Sarah finished 3rd Lady at the Worlds in the RS Aero 7s.

29er - Nick Robins & Billy Vennis-Ozanne
29er campaigners Nick and Billy joined the 110 boat RS Aero UK Nationals this summer and finisherd a creditable 6th and 9th respectively in the 75 boat RS Aero 7 fleet.

RS800 - Chris Rashley & Hannah Bristow
Chris joined us at our open at Reading earlier this year and top 29er/RS Feva/RS500 sailer Hannah is lined up to assist in our monthly Winter Training this winter.

Comet - Chris Hatton & David Harris
David races his RS Aero from Severn SC on the River Avon and Chris borrowed his RS Aero for the first RS Aero UK Youth Champs at Burghfield this summer.

Firefly - Nigel Wakefield
Nigel raced in our RS Aero Southern Championships at Lymington.

Best of luck to them all!

Thanks to Derek Stow for the title inspiration!
