Thanks Peter, that's really helpful. I might be able to get along to Hayling to take a look at the boat in action but if not I'm sure RS will have a stand at the Southampton Show. Has any optimum crew weight been designed in or emerged in practice for the three variations? Thanks

Hi Manxman,
Great that you are contemplating joining the Class.
The regularly used age categories are;
Youth (under 19 on 31st Dec this year)
and
Master (55 or over on 31st Dec this Year)
at the Worlds (and going forwards whenever appropriate) we also started;
Grand Master (65 or over on 31st Dec this Year)
and when appropriate at Championships and at the recent UK Youth Nationals we also added the young categories of;
Junior (under 16 on 31st Dec this year)
and
Apprentice (under 22 on 31st Dec this year)
Apprentice (under 22 on 31st Dec this year)
in addition to the existing U19 Youth category.
The upcoming UK Nationals at Hayling on 31 Aug - 3 Sept now has 70 entries and a record number in each of the main categories with over 20% of the total entry in each;
Lady; 15 entries
Youth; 16 entries
Master; 15 entries

Hi, Looking to get back into dinghy racing following retirement (Im 65). The Aeros ease of transport and lightweight ashore are very appealing. I just wondered what age range categories are used and if they are commonly used at open meetings/travellers events and in championships and overseas events? Thanks
