Ah, happy memories of racing at Island Barn through the winter in my teens during the 1970s. My recollection is of some wild days when the light breeze at ground level became almost a gale at water level.

If any Southern Sea sailors are looking for a home for the Winter we have a great winter series at Island Barn. Deep water raised reservoir - no trees close to the water so as clean a wind as you will get inland. Winter membership Nov-Mar - See www.islandbarn.org.uk or ask me for more details. We usually get a few refugees from places like HISC.
