Island Barn Reservoir SC Adult Training - Surrey, UK, Monday 5th May

The shores of Island Barn Reservoir Sailing Club were alive with activity as 15 RS Aero sailors, representing the full spectrum of sail sizes, converged for a dynamic training day under the expert tuition of RS Aero Head UK Coach, Sammy IJ, and fellow accomplished coach, Sophie Stockton.

The day unfolded in two distinct halves; a morning dedicated to mastering boat setup, tacking, and gybing in the gentle morning breeze, which then dramatically shifted to exhilarating conditions in the afternoon. As the wind built, whitecaps danced across the lake, providing a fantastic arena to practice starts and explore a range of advanced techniques.

The comprehensive curriculum ensured that sailors of all levels gleaned valuable insights and practical skills. A heartfelt thank you goes to Michelle and Dave from Island Barn Sailing Club, whose seamless organisation made the day such a resounding success.
