Great post race dinner!
DAY 2 was somewhat different than the sunshine and moderate breezes that came with Day 1. Sunday saw a one hour postponement for squalls with gusts into the 30s. The fleet went out into periodic squall bands with rain and elevated winds that were mostly 15-20 knots with gusts maybe 25. The RC set another trapezoid course that made for good sailing on all points and exciting long reaches featuring double digit speeds. Yesterday’s four races were followed up with three more today to stay within the 13:00 cutoff time. On return to HSA there was an encore to last night’s outstanding Tacos to save the TaTas with a nachos and fixings spread for lunch.
Awards followed with Andrew in 1st, Zack in 2nd and Wes in 3rd. I finished in 4th sailing an RS Aero 5 (deference to the old guy with a 1 minute jump head start) and had some great racing with David Gay edging him literally by 1 foot (30cm!) in race 6! Everyone had a great time and those who weren’t there missed a really fun event! Well done Halifax SA!
