725m Nad Veci - YC Liskovec, Cerna v Posumavi, Lipno, Czech Republic, 11/13th Oct 2024
Congratulations to Daniel Guryca on his win. Samuel Lukacovic took 2nd with Jan Hruby in 3rd. The top 3 were all in RS Aero 7s this time.
Thanks to Marcela Sormova for the report;Thirteen RS Aeros turned out at Lake Lipno, at 725 m above sea level, for the 725m Nad Veci, traditionally, the last cup race of the year at Lipno. This year's edition has expanded to include additional competitors from the 49er. This year we gathered 13 boats.
From the point of view of RS Aero, we chose a slightly different format, when we changed the Friday race to a training day under the baton of Dan Guryca. In the first phase of training we had video analysis of other fellow sailors, Dan pointed out things to avoid, what to focus on, what is specific to our boat. A short discussion followed, followed by application of the newly loaded information on the water. Wind conditions were in the range of 5-8 m/s during the entire training. Since the RS 700 has already started this year's championship, we directed the training on the water beyond them, to the location between Taiwan and Hurka. We devoted training to turns against and downwind, movement in the boat, trim of sails, etc. We ended everything with practice heats. In the evening part of the training, we had another analysis, this time on our videos.
A huge THANK YOU to Dan (not only for the cookies he tempted us with)!!!
We already joined the race on Saturday. After a postponement due to lack of wind, we went into battle. The very first heat showed that the training was a huge benefit and the hunt for Dan began in a big way. During the afternoon, the judges managed to organise 4 nice heats, in sunny weather and a stable wind of around 4-5 m/s, with occasional gusts up to 7 m/s. After the first day of the yacht race, the trio Dan, Honza and Petr had the best cards, followed by Brona and Sam.
The forecast for Sunday was somewhat more Lipensky. As they predicted, it was, and maybe even more in places. So, on the second day of the race, we rode in a wind of 7-16 m/s. We had 4 heats waiting for us on Sunday as well, from which Sam came out the best and won a hat trick in the fight for the Dan Guryca Award. Together with him, Petr and Honza were also awarded, who also succeeded in beating Dana by one.
Considering that this was the last cup race of this season, there was also an evaluation of the RS Aero Czech Cup for 2024.

Kompletni vysledky
This year's special prize went to Jiri Kuthan Jr., who represented the Czech & Slovak RS Aero colours abroad the most this year, for which he deserves a big thank you.
Finally, a necessary thank you to everyone who took care of us on the water and on the shore during the long weekend, the referee, the race director Jiri Kuthan Sr. and all of us, because we showed again that together we can be stronger and better!
Next season we will definitely repeat the joint trainings and we will be happy if our ranks will be expanded by more newcomers, similar to this year.
