Calasetta IV Ranking Nazionale - Sardinia, Italy, 5-7 JulyFrancesca Ramazzotti and Filippo Vincis win the National RS Aero regatta in Calasetta in the RS Aero 5 and RS Aero 6 classes. Enrico Loi and Alice Sussarello win the Under 17 and Under 22 categories respectively
The Calasetta Sail Week - 4th National Regatta of the RS Aero class ended with the maximum number of 10 races thanks to another beautiful day characterised by a breeze, coming like the first day from the south-west and at 7-8 knots of intensity.
With the last two regattas the podium positions in the two categories RS Aero 5 and RS Aero 6 have not changed compared to Saturday: absolute domination in the class with the largest sail RS Aero 6 with the standard bearer of the Lega Navale del Sulcis Filippo Vincis who achieved 10 victories out of 10 races; nice recovery by Alice Sussarello (LNI of Sulcis), who raced very well today and with two seconds managed to overtake her teammate Michele Manconi, also winning the women's and under 22 victory.
By just one point Francesca Ramazzotti (Veliamoci Oristano) managed to maintain the lead in the RS Aero 5 class thus winning the general classification as well as the female one: with a 4-3 partial she kept the new European champion Enrico Loi (LNI Cagliari) behind her, second overall and first under 17. Mattia Monti (CN Rimini) remained third, losing some contact with the first two. Nice first final for Chiara Sussarello (LNI Sulcis), fourth overall.
Organized by the Lega Navale del Sulcis, a very active club in the RS Aero and OpenSkiff classes both as competitive teams and as an organization of national and international events (the world championships of both classes), the event could not have gone better: Calasetta offered weather conditions always good with light to medium-light wind, allowing everyone to express their technical and tactical skills. The regatta, supported by the Sardinia Region, the Municipality of Calasetta, Creativi Associati and Monreale Servizi and organized by delegation of the Italian Sailing Federation, was perfectly conducted by the President of the Regatta Committee Daniel Pau.
For the participants of the youth category it was a great training opportunity before the RS Aero Youth World Championships, which will take place in Sweden in a month. At the awards ceremony, held in the Piazza Principato di Monaco, in front of the headquarters of the Naval League of Sulcis, the new sports councilor of the Municipality of Calasetta Luciano Biggio was present.

Si è conclusa con il numero massimo di 10 prove la Calasetta Sail Week - 4^ Regata Nazionale della classe RS Aero grazie ad un’altra bella giornata caratterizzata da una brezza, proveniente come il primo giorno da sud-ovest e sui 7-8 nodi di intensità.
Con le ultime due regate le posizioni del podio nelle due categorie RS Aero 5 e RS Aero 6 non sono cambiate rispetto a sabato: dominio assoluto nella classe con vela più grande RS Aero 6 con il portacolori della Lega Navale del Sulcis Filippo Vincis che ha realizzato l’en plein con 10 vittorie su 10 regate; bel recupero di Alice Sussarello (LNI del Sulcis), che oggi ha regatato molto bene e con due secondi é riuscita a superare il compagno di squadra Michele Manconi, aggiudicandosi anche la vittoria femminile e under 22. Per un solo punto é riuscita a mantenere la testa della classifica nella classe RS Aero 5 Francesca Ramazzotti (Veliamoci Oristano) aggiudicandosi così la classifica generale oltre che quella femminile: con un 4-3 parziali ha mantenuto dietro di sé il neo-campione europeo Enrico Loi (LNI Cagliari), secondo assoluto e primo under 17. Si è mantenuto terzo, perdendo un po’ il contatto dai primi due, Mattia Monti (CN Rimini). Bel primo finale di Chiara Sussarello (LNI Sulcis), quarta assoluta.
Organizzata dalla Lega Navale del Sulcis, circolo molto attivo nelle classi OpenSkiff e RS Aero sia come squadre agonistiche, che come organizzazione di eventi nazionali ed internazionali (i mondiali di entrambe le classi), la manifestazione non poteva andare meglio: Calasetta ha offerto condizioni meteo marine sempre buone con vento da leggero a medio-leggero, permettendo a tutti di esprimere le proprie capacità tecniche e tattiche. La regata, sostenuta da Regione Sardegna, Comune di Calasetta, Creativi Associati e Monreale servizi e organizzata su delega della Federazione Italiana Vela, é stata perfettamente condotta dal Presidente del Comitato di regata Daniel Pau e per i partecipanti della categoria youth é stata una bella occasione di allenamento prima dei Campionati del Mondo giovanili RS Aero, che si svolgeranno in Svezia tra un mese. Alla premiazione, svolta nella Piazza Principato di Monaco, antistante la sede della Lega Navale del Sulcis, presente il neo assessore allo sport del Comune di Calasetta Luciano Biggio.
