Two courses, one for skiffs the other for medium and smaller boats including the RS Aero. 3 starts for each round are given: one for PY individuals, one for RS Feva, one for Openskiff.

A nice job of organising by ASNQ. 

Practice Day

Sailing in RS Aero 5 or 6, for me I went in 5m2 for a warm up lap while I signed up in 6m2 for the regatta.

Nice weather with a wind of 6-8 knots SW 10-15 knots pretty nice.

Day 1:

First start given at 14:00 hours, weak wind with three general reminders the penultimate under the black pavilion, but this does not start the dynamism of the riders, we still manage to start despite everything but in the end the lap was cancelled on the way due to lack of wind. Return to land treated for many because more wind and current in the nose is not easy, we were going to miss the aperitif!

Day 2 :

Leaving at 11:00 with 11-15 knots and quite a clap and southeast wind. I can hardly talk about the first round because I made up with my 6m2 that I discover on the occasion and only went on the water for the next one. Only 22 competitors qualified for this round as the BFDs from the night before postponed to this round due to the first round of the night being canceled. Two laps in a row, still a good wave, the wind has weakened, it suits me well but it remains present. 55 participants ranked

The race committee tried to throw in a fourth lap but it was finally cancelled on the way due to wind. Second back to school with towing it's becoming a habit!

Day 3 :

Only 37 competitors ranked, there is a loss but not for the RS Aeronauts (yes!). The race committee has pushed the 10:00 available early but smart as the wind is still expected to hit the afternoon. East wind 13-16 knots Departures without problems, the atmosphere on the plane is great i ... 2 classic races, a little raid that takes us back in front of the club)

At 14:00 the wind is falling, the race committee is bringing us in, there no towing the distance is smaller.

Day 4 :

Available at 10:30 on the water, light wind E-9 knots Southeast, 2 more general recals for the first round... wearing under U flag for the penultimate starting test. Finally we get to go, to finish with another cancelled round due to lack of wind. Back in the club pumping for me, treats for others. It was warm but still not bad after the harsh March.

Downstairs the atmosphere was very nice we dined between RS Aero every night it’s cool thanks to the organisation of Cathy and Jocelyne shopping while having fun on the water.

Racer meal on Friday good paella and a dancing evening. I'm a little noisy during the meal, we had trouble talking to each other...

In short, the RS Aero class has grown with 23 at RS Aeros at this event and is still so welcoming and caring, a real pleasure to be part of this class!

I hope as many people can come to the RS Aero Europeans in 21-24 June in Carnac with 103 RS Aeros now entered! It will be a joy to see you all there (wink to Laure... )

Deux ronds, un pour les skiffs (Twenty, Laser400, B14, RS 700 et autres)

L’autre pour les dériveurs médiums et light (Aero , laser, openskiff, rs Feva, moth sans foil, quelques 420 et autres dériveurs°) 3 départs pour chaque manche sont donnés : un pour les individuels, un pour les rs feva, un pour les openskiff.

Au final un beau boulot d’organisation de l’ASNQ. 80 personnes mobilisées pour l’événement quand même !

Jour J-1 :

navigation à 5 ou 6 Aero, pour ma part je suis partie en 5m2 pour faire un tour de chauffe alors que je me suis inscrite en 6m2 pour la régate.

Beau temps avec un vent d’6-8 nœuds de sud est ouest 10-15 nœuds bien agréable.

Jour J :

Premier départ donné à14heures, vent faible avec trois rappels généraux l’avant dernier sous pavillon noir, mais cela n’entame pas le dynamisme des coureurs, on arrive quand même à partir malgré tout mais finalement manche annulée en cours de route faute de vent. Retour à terre tractés pour beaucoup car plus de vent et le courant dans le nez ce n’est pas simple, on allait rater l’apéro !

Jour +1 :

Départ à 11h avec 11-15 nœuds et pas mal de clapot et vent de sud-est. Je peux difficilement parler de la première manche car j’ai fait petits bras avec ma 6m2 que je découvre à l‘occasion et ne suis allée sur l’eau que pour la suivante. Seulement 22 concurrents classés pour cette manche car les BFD de la veille se sont reportés sur cette manche car la première de la veille a été annulée. Deux manches en suivant, toujours une bonne houle, le vent a faiblit, ça me convient bien mais il reste présent. 55 participants classés.

Le comité de course a essayé de lancer une quatrième manche mais elle est finalement annulée en cours de route faute de vent. Deuxième rentrée avec remorquage ça devient une habitude !

Jour J+2 :

Seulement 37 concurrents classés, il ya de la perte mais pas chez les aérotistes (yes !). Le comité de course a avancé la mise à dispo à 10h ça fait tôt mais c’est intelligent car le vent va encore tomber l’après-midi. Vent d’est 13 :16 nœuds. Départs sans problèmes, l’ambiance sur le plan est super si on oublie quelques indécrottables laser … 2 manches classiques, un petit raid qui nous ramène en face du club)

A 14 heures le vent tombe, le comité de course nous fait rentrer, là pas de remorquage la distance est moindre.

Jour J+3 :

Mise à dispo à 10h30 sur l’eau, vent faible è-9 nœuds de sud-est, encore 2 rappels généraux pour la première manche … portant sous pavillons U pour l’avant dernier essai de départ. Finalement on arrive à partir, pour finir avec encore une manche annulée faute de vent. Retour au club en pompant pour moi, tractés pour d’autres. Il faisait bien chaud mais c’est quand même pas mal après les rigueurs du mois de mars.

A terre l’ambiance était très sympa nous avons diné entre Aero tous les soirs, c’est cool, cela grâce à l’organisation de Cathy et de Jocelyne qui faisaient les courses pendant qu’on s’amusait sur l’eau.

Repas coureur le vendredi bonne paëlla et soirée dansante. Sono un peu bruyante pendant le repas on avait du mal à se parler …

En résumé, la classe Aero a grossi et est toujours aussi accueillante et bienveillante, c’est un vrai plaisir de faire partie de cette classe.

J’espère que le maximum de monde pourra venir à l’européen en juin à Carnac car ç’est une joie de vous voir tous (clin d’œil à Laure …)
