Space Coast Invitational Regatta - Indian River YC, Kelly Park, Merritt Island, FL, USA, March 23/24th

The 2024 Space Coast Invitational unfolded against the backdrop of Merritt Island, Florida on the Banana River. Under sunny skies, sailors enjoyed flat waters and gusty winds peaking at 20 knots, the regatta proved to be both thrilling and challenging. Over 25 boats took part, with athletes from various backgrounds converging to test their mettle in the different fleets and it was interesting to have the RS Aero 7s lining up alongside the Melges 14s on the water.

In the end, Antonio Maya-LeFort emerged victorious in the RS Aero 7s after a dominant performance on the second day. Philip Myerson and Marc Jacobi followed closely behind, rounding out this spirited event. Saturday night regatta dinner/drinks out at Dolphins was great fun as a fleet too.

Great to be part of another year of RS Aero racing at Kelly Park. Thanks to Indian River YC for hosting again.
