The Italian RS Aero class came together again in Calasetta for the third Italian national regatta RS Aero, which follows on from Ostia and Limone sul Garda, Held over three days of good wind and waves at the World Championships venue of July it provided an occasion to test the World Cup regatta field in a Calasetta. Good general practice for the Naval League of Sulcis sailors and organisers, engaged as a FIV organizer and present, as always, with a competitive sailing team focused on both RS Aero and Open Skiff.
In the RS Aero 5 and 7 classes, after two days in which they had already proven to dominate the scene, with the last four races on the third and final day, Francesca Ramazzotti (Veliamoci ASD, Oristano) and Filippo Vincis (LNI del Sulcis) were confirmed in the first place respectively.
The two race score exclusions obtained with the 10 total races also outlined the RS Aero 6 rankings clearer than on the second day, when there were 5 athletes in 6 points: Davide Mulas' final victory with a 3 point lead over Giacomo Gatta (CN Savio), one of the few from the mainland, with Alice Sussarello (LNI Sulcis) yop female in 3rd just 5 points behind.

🇮🇹 Settimane intense per la classe Open Skiff e RS Aero, che negli ultimi due week end festivi sono state impegnate prima a Rimini con il secondo appuntamento di allenamento del gruppo di alta specializzazione “TIOS-Top Italian Open Skiff”, poi a Calasetta per la terza regata nazionale RS Aero, disputata in tre giornate di vento e onda. Le due classi hanno avuto in comune la scelta della sede in cui si sono svolti gli eventi, la stesse scelta dalle rispettive classi, per i Campionati Mondiali il prossimo mese di luglio.
La terza regata nazionale RS Aero, che segue ad Ostia e Limone sul Garda. Un’occasione per testare il campo di regata del mondiale in una Calasetta che ha offerto condizioni di vento e onda molto interessanti. Prove generali per la Lega Navale del Sulcis, impegnata come circolo FIV organizzatore e presente, come sempre, con una squadra agonistica concentrata sia sull’RS Aero, che sull’Open Skiff.
Nelle classi RS Aero 5 e7, dopo due giorni in cui avevano già dimostrato di dominare la scena, con le ultime quattro regate nella terza e ultima giornata, Francesca Ramazzotti (Veliamoci ASD, Oristano) e Filippo Vincis (LNI del Sulcis) si sono confermati rispettivamente al primo posto.
I due scarti ottenuti con le 10 regate totali hanno delineato in modo più netto anche la classifica degli RS Aero 6, rispetto alla seconda giornata, in cui c’erano 5 atleti in 6 punti: vittoria finale di Davide Mulas con 3 punti di vantaggio su Giacomo Gatta (CN Savio), uno dei pochi dal continente, che a sua volta ha distaccato di 5 punti Alice Sussarello (LNI Sulcis). Il target delle regate è stato sulla mezzora per ciascuna prova, un po' meno nella terza ed ultima giornata. Onda protagonista in tutte le regate, con planate spettacolari e divertenti! Calasetta non si è smentita e ha regalato tre giornate di grande vela, pronta per accogliere dal 25 al 30 luglio la numerosa flotta per il mondiale RS Aero.
Ora inizia la parte piu importante della stagione agonistica delle 2 classi: Open Skiff a Rimini e Rs Aero a Calasetta dove ai due mondiali in programma si sono già iscritti rispettivamente 250 e 150 atleti!
