First RS Aero focus regatta at the DSCL

No algae, weed or other vegetables in the water, which would have made it difficult to get to the start line. While the move from late summer to spring was a success for this reason, the wind left a lot to be desired, especially since it was still gently drizzling on Saturday. Nevertheless, in the late afternoon a little north-easterly wind picked up, so that two more races could be sailed, which Gert Keppler won before Saturday ended with pasta and wine.

There was a bit more wind for Sunday, but no rain was forecast, so there was hope of still being able to sail the scheduled 6 races. The temperature was also ok, so that, as predicted by the Windfinder, the wind started around 11am and it was actually quite decent.

Ready to attack, I started the first run with a win, ahead of Juliane and Gert. After that, however, Fortuna was anything but kind to me. Without a wind indicator and burdened with an OCS, I wandered about the course, abandoned by all good spirits, and was allowed to watch Juliane and Gert fight for victory in the first RS Aero focus regatta, which Juliane finally won with three first places. So the training camp at Lake Garda has its justification, for which there is still a place available. So get to the booking!

A big thank you goes to everyone who made the regatta possible, from the sailors to the kitchen crew led by Bernard, to the race committee with Gummi and Jurgen and not to forget the buoy layers and all the hard-working hands around. Erste RS Aero Schwerpunktregatta beim DSCL

Keine Algen, Kraut oder sonstiges Gemüse im Wasser, was die Anreise zur Startlinie erschwert hätte. War aus diesem Grund der Umzug vom Spätsommer in den Frühling ein Erfolg, so ließ der Wind zu wünschen übrig, zumal es am Samstag auch noch gemütlich vor sich hin genieselt hat. Trotzdem setzte am späteren Nachmittag doch noch ein wenig Wind aus Nordost ein, sodass noch zwei Läufe gesegelt werden konnten, welche Gert Keppler für sich entscheiden konnte, bevor der Samstag mit Pasta und Wein ausklang.

Für den Sonntag war etwas mehr Wind, dafür kein Regen vorhergesagt, sodass Hoffnung bestand, die angesetzten 6 Läufe noch segeln zu können. Auch die Temperatur war ok, sodass, wie vom Windfinder orakelt, pünktlich gegen 11 Uhr Wind einsetzte, der sogar recht ordentlich war.

Auf Angriff gebürstet startete ich mit einem Sieg in den ersten Lauf, vor Juliane und Gert. Danach war mir Fortuna jedoch alles andere als hold. Ohne Windanzeiger und mit einem OCS belastet, irrte ich von allen guten Geistern verlassen über den Kurs und durfte mit ansehen, wie Juliane und Gert um den Sieg bei der ersten RS Aero Schwerpunktregatta kämpften, den Juliane schließlich mit drei ersten für sich entscheiden konnte. Das Trainingslager am Gardasee hat also durchaus seine Berechtigung, wofür übrigens noch ein Platz frei ist. Also ran an den Speck.
