Selden SailJuice Winter Series 2022/23, UK

Seldén SailJuice Winter Series is the ideal way to keep your racing skills sharp through the colder months. The 9 events spread over the UK between November and February saw a good mix of conditions and every scheduled race was able to be completed. With a whopping entry of 352 boats entering at least one event the RS Aeros had their fair share of glory with 30 RS Aeros turning out over the series.

Joe Scurrah (RS Aero 7) bounced onto the overall series podium up to 3rd after a 6th placing in the final event. 1st overall was Peter Gray & Geoff Edward (Osprey) and 2nd was Ben Flower (ILCA 7). Two RS Aero 6s had a good showing with Sam Mettam in 10th and Ellie Craig in 13th overall.
Ellie Craig defended the Top Female title that she won last year and Sophie Stockton was Top RS Aero 5 in 35th overall.

At individual events the RS Aeros were often seen at or near the front of the fleet. Several high achievements were;
1st Draycote Dash - Richard PYE, Draycote Water SC, RS Aero 7 
4th Draycote Dash - Joe SCURRAH, Carsington SC, RS Aero 7 
2nd Datchet Flyer - Arran HOLMAN, Hollowell SC, RS Aero 7 
4th Grafham GP - Joe SCURRAH, Carsington SC, RS Aero 7
3rd Oxford Blue - Arran HOLMAN, Hollowell SC, RS Aero 7

Get set for the new season by joining the UK Youth Team Winter Training at Hayling Island SC on 11/12th March (adults welcome!) or if you love pursuit races the Frensham Frenzy in Surrey provides a series of two on Saturday 11th March with lots of short legs on their shifty gusty pond for a great early season refresher!
