Fantastic to see 23 young RS Aero 5 sailors for the first Italian RS Aero Youth Champs!

  Condizioni meteo-climatiche da inizio estate hanno benedetto il Primo Campionato Italiano RS Aero Youth Under 18 svoltosi dal 7 al 9 ottobre al Tognazzi Marine Village di Roma con 23 ragazzi e ragazze iscritti provenienti da tutta Italia.
  Sono state disputate 10 prove a largo del mare di Ostia che hanno messo a confronto le nuove leve di una classe che sta sempre più prendendo piede tra i giovanissimi velisti italiani.
  "Stiamo investendo su formazione e divertimento – assicura il presidente della Classe Nazionale, Guido Sirolli – considerato che proponiamo una barca dalle grandi performance di regata e innovativa sia dal punto di vista della velocità, che della manovrabilità, di soli 31kg di peso, una barca ideale per i cambi di classe che avvengono tra i 14 e 15 anni."
  Il podio conferma una stretta correlazione con la classe O’Pen Skiff, territorio di provenienza di molti degli atleti in gara.
   Al primo posto con 23 punti vi è l’atleta del Circolo Velico Castiglionese, Niccolò Giomarelli, vice campione in carica nella classe O'pen Skiff. Secondo posto con 26 punti per Giacomo Gatta del Circolo Nautico Savio. Terzo per Sara Murru, con un totale di 27 punti e proveniente dalla Lega Navale Sulcis. Quarto e quinto posto, rispettivamente per Giulio Siracusa, 37 punti dallo Yachting Club Santo Stefano e Elias Nonnis, 39 punti dalla Lega Navale Sulcis.
   Abbiamo concluso una stagione di regate nella migliore maniera possibile – commenta ancora Sirolli – e per questo proporremo ancora appuntamenti di rilievo e tappe di avvicinamento al Campionato del Mondo Youth e Master che si terrà a luglio 2023 proprio in Italia, a Calasetta in Sardegna.
   Grande il lavoro svolto in questo week end dal comitato di regata presieduto da Mario Lupinelli.
   Le barche per la tre giorni sono state messe a disposizione da Negri Nautica e da alcuni armatori master della classe.

Nice summer weather blessed the first Italian RS Aero Youth Under 18 Championship held from 7-9th October at the Tognazzi Marine Village in Rome with 23 boys and girls from all over Italy.

10 races were held off the coast of Ostia that compared the new generation of a Class that is increasingly taking hold among the very young Italian sailors.

"We are investing in training and fun" - assures the president of the Italian National Class, Guido Sirolli - "considering that we offer a boat with great racing performance and innovative both in terms of speed and manoeuvrability, weighing only 31kg, a boat ideal for class changes that occur between the ages of 14 and 15. "

The podium confirms a close correlation with the O’Pen Skiff class, the territory of origin of many of the athletes competing.

"We have concluded a season of regattas in the best possible way" - Sirolli comments - "and for this reason we will still propose important appointments and approaches to the Youth and Master World Championship to be held in July 2023 in Italy, in Calasetta in Sardinia."

Great work was done this weekend by the race committee chaired by Mario Lupinelli.
The boats for the three days were made available by Negri Nautica and some lent by master owners of the class.
