RS Aero East Coast USA Championships at the Fontelieu Fall OD Regatta - Cedar Point YC, CT, USA, Oct 1/2nd

Thanks to Melissa Solnick for her summary;
Due to the crumbs of Hurricane Ian the RS Aero East Coast USA Championship saw a blustery, rainy first day of racing for the 23 RS Aeros entered. The breeze and waves were stronger on Sunday, leading the race committee to cancel the day's racing so Saturday's places stood.

Philip Myerson gave an excellent demonstration of downwind sailing and of how great the 6 rig is when the 5 isn't enough and the 7 is too much! I was very envious while getting my a*s kicked in the 7 upwind. Marc Jacobi gave a masterclass in smart sailing with the crazy conditions and his limitations. Madhavan, Boris, Anne, and Sally were just fast! Nathalie was a rocket upwind and we are definitely going to have to watch out for her when that cast is off her foot.

We are very excited to have new class members Thomas Sa and Olmo Cerri sailing with us. It was their first time in RS Aeros and both were impressive sailors who finished in the top 10 for the event.

Congratulations to Madhavan Thirumalai (1st Overall, 1st 9 rig), Marc Jacobi (2nd Overall, 1st 7 rig), Boris Mezhibovskiy (3rd Overall, 2nd 9 rig). First place 6 rig was place Philip Myerson and first female Anne Kochendorferand. Sally Sharp was top 5 rig.
