Big Dinghy Regatta - Richmond YC, San Francisco Bay, California, USA, April 16th
Report thanks to Craig Perez;Congratulations is due to all who participated in last weekend's Big Dinghy Regatta at Richmond Yacht Club. First, we were the second largest fleet to enter (we had nine RS Aeros total), second, everyone managed the bigger breeze and water conditions that SF Bay can dish out. With breeze in the 15-18 knot range (some puffs to 20), a building ebb tide which creates block shaped waves, we all came away with a bit more confidence and some new stories to share at the bar. "There I was" stories were a common theme while munching on some great appetizers and cold beer served up to all competitors who braved the "typical" SF Bay conditions. All and all, a great day of sailing these great boats, at a great venue, and a great club!
Congratulations to Steve Smith in pulling out the victory in the RS Aero 9s and Chris Davison in the RS Aero 7s.
