Ullswater Daffodil Regatta - Cumbria, UK, 23/24 April
RS Aero UK Northern Circuit
Ullswater Yacht Club's annual Daffodil Regatta on April 23 & 24 had lots of daffodils, lots of sun and blue sky and lots and lots of wind! The vicious easterlies were so strong on Saturday with gusts of more than 30kts that after a long postponement and no signs of the wind easing, racing was cancelled for the day.

Sunday brought more bright sunshine and a forecast of more gusty wind, slightly lighter but from the same tricky direction. Race officers and their teams were determined to run the event and there were plenty of takers among the racers keen to get out on the water.
Seven RS Aeros had entered, although reduced by the wind. Racing was exciting and with Ullswater's beautiful scenery and blue skies as a back drop it was certainly a weekend to remember..Congratulations to Sam Waller on winning the handicap fleet at Ullswater Yacht Club's Dafoodil Regattan in his RS Aero 7 and with it the first stage in the 2022 RS Aero UK Northern Circuit.
