Tognazzi Marine Village, NI#1a - Rome, Italy, 5/6th MarchThe new season in Italy opened over the weekend with the first 2022 Nationale Italiano series event, held at Tognazzi Marine Village on the Ostia Coast near Rome.
Beautiful spring conditons with blue skies, warm sunshine and a nice medium breeze were perfect to re-familiarise with racing after a short winter break. The racing was close and competitive with a strong contingent travelling from Sardinia and the sailors from LNI Sulcis and Veliamoci dominatied the podium positions.
This weekend sees another event at Tognazzi, back-to-back for efficiency. The Italian RS Aero Class then travels south to Sicily on 18-20 March for 3 days of training and racing at the wonderful venue of Mondelo, Palermo in a steady build up to the main events of the summer.
