Lymington Ladies Race - Wed 30th June

In a star studded field of five RS Aeros and fourteen mixed class boats in total the RS Aero Ladies all upsized to RS Aero 7s in the dying evening breeze.

A pre race briefing helped Abby and Cathy fire like bullets from a gun off the start line and lead the fleet of larger faster boats out of the river. Key tactics then were dealing with adverse tide downwind and judging the tide assisted lay lines upwind. Iona made a steady comeback through the race and in a slow reaching finish in the last of the breeze showed a good technique to trundle by in the closing moments.

The final result remained uncertain until corrected times had been applied. These then gave Iona the coveted 2021 title from Abby by just 3 seconds with the RS200 about half a minute behind. In reality the RS Aero Class had most of the bases covered with lady RS Aero owners at the helm of the Osprey, RS800, RS200 and the Laser 4.7 too!

Lymington's RS Aero Ladies look forward to the RS Aero UK Ladies Champs at Bowmoor SC on the 17/18th September, with the one day Champs on the Sunday following a day's training and party on the Saturday!
