A relaxed regatta pastingwith racing and training and fleets of both RS Aeros and Lasers on Merritt Island. Pleasant medium breezes, a nice temperature and blue skies made for an enjoyable weekend on the water.

 

Gregory Popp comments; 'It was a small RS Aero fleet of nine boats but consistently close racing with finishes seconds apart and even only by one second. The bonus was the Falcon 9 launch from Cape Canaveral that ascended right overhead to a thunderous roar as we were on the water!' 

 

With 9 RS Aeros on the start line the weekend served as an excellent warm up to the RS Aero South Florida Race Week starting next weekend at the US Sailing Center at Jenson Beach which comprises 3 race events and training, including the 2021 Florida States and North American Midwinter Championship.
