Grafham Grand Prix (Sailjuice) - Cambridgeshire, UK, 29th Dec
A whopping entry of 27 RS Aeros took part in the GGP during the Christmas break with the mixed class event once again a sell out with 200 entries! The entries were split into 3 matched fleets on 3 separate race courses. The sun was out and the breeze was mediumish, around 10kn - perfect for good winter racing!
Congratulations to Tim Hire on his 2nd place in his RS Aero 7 from a fleet of 80 in the 3rd fleet. Tim scored a solid 3,2,3, performing in all three races to give him a discard to spare. 2nd RS Aero 7 was Philip Bailey and 3rd Gary Fowler, both from Grafham.
The RS Aero 5s were the largest fleet there with 17 entries. Jonathan Bailey topped the RS Aero 5s in 20th overall. Davis Peaty was 2nd RS Aero 5 and Sam Blaker 3rd.
The big boys in the RS Aero 9s joined the 2nd fleet with Gregory Bartlett taking 21st from 67 and Chris Larr close behind.
NEXT UP - Get your entries in now for the next event in the RS Aero UK and SailJuce Winter Series - its the big one, the iconic Bloody Mary Pursuit at QMSC on 11th Jan. We already have 43 RS Aeros signed up - so there is going to be excellent Class racing for us too, within the main event.
