The Endeavour Trophy - RCYC, Burnham, 12/13 OctThe UK's 'Champion of Champions' Dinghy Event
Well sailed to our young RS Aero Class representatives in the Endeavour Trophy, the UK's 'Champion of Champions' event at RCYC, Burnham. Top UK dinghy classes are invited to send their National Champions to compete against the star studded 30 boat entry list in RS200s.
Our RS Aero 9 UK champion, 19 year old Liam Willis, crewed by Will Taylor had a tough day in the light winds on Saturday and then made a storming comeback in Sunday's brisk breeze with 3 top 10 results to carve out a hard earned 15th overall.
The RS Aero 5s were represented by UK Champ, 17 year old William Caiger, crewed by Caitlin Morley, and they finished top Youth competitors in a very respectable 20th overall.
Our current RS Aero 7 World Champion, Sam Whaley, crewed by brother Ben and this time representing the Lasers has done a fine job upping his RS200 game since his last Endeavour to now compete near the front. They won a race and took 4th overall.
Special mentions must go to occasional RS Aero sailor, Alice Davis, representing the RS Teras who scored a 5th in race 1, her first ever RS200 race, laying down an early marker against the many more experienced teams who were left in her wake!
Martin Penty, who joined us at our Lake Garda Europeans in his RS Aero 7 (since commandeered by son Tom!), finished an excellent 8th representing the Streakers.
WELL DONE TO ALL!
