Einhandregatta - Dummer See, Germany, 11/12 May
Thanks to Jorn Domres for his report;
Our first valid ranking was in Lembruch at the SCD. Last year's best RS Aero sailors met at the Dummer producing a strong field after many of them were training at Torbole / Lake Garda the week before.
Thus, the usual suspects were in the front rank with a steady 12kn wind from the north, Marcus Walther ahead of Thomas Beneker and Juliane Barthel. Stephan Moller showed a consistent performance and was already in 4th place in the first race. Jens Rohrsen clearly caught up in the following races after a botched first race. He made a 3,2 in the series and even a victory in the last race. Thus, he pushed himself in front of Juliane Barthel, who had reserved for almost all the third place.
A big thank you to the regatta management, we will be happy to come back. She had a lot to do, because we had 42 Contenders, 13 Europes and 26 Finns on the course. We were set four laps of the triangular course with about 40 minute races.
The evening program with a chat on intellectual drinks was also extensively perceived by the RS Aero sailors. An enjoyable exchange across the class unions.
For the anniversary year of the SCD in 2021 we try to get the Aero-Cup to the Dummer, that's the plan.
Our next regatta is now at the Sorpe at KSCH. We would be happy to welcome numerous RS Aero sailors on site.
In the two-day training and Umsteiger training on the two days before (30.5-31.5) are still three places free. Even the simple try-out of the Aero will be possible.
