RS Aero Texas State Championships
at the Spring Fling, Conroe YC, Houston, Texas, USA, April 28/29
10 RS Aeros turned out to open up the season in Texas, the largest fleet at this year's Spring Fling at Conroe. Momentum is gathering ready to ramp up to the RS Aero North American Championship, supported by KO Sailing, in just 3 weeks at Galverston, Houston.
In predominantly light winds the 9 rigs we're favoured by most, with sailors gliding gracefully through the zephyrs on Saturday. Sunday allowed everyone to stretch their legs a little more with a refreshing building breeze.
The weekend once again belonged to reigning North American Champ Hank Saurage of Louisiana. Phillip Myerson claimed 2nd at his first RS Aero regatta and home RS Aero owner and event coordinator Mike Lindstrom took 3rd.
