Write-Up
We had a clash in the UK on the 20th March when the UK Spring Champs at Grafham fell on the same date as the Exmoor Beastie at Wimbleball SC, the final of the 3 event Southwest Series. None the less, even with 20 of our keenest travelling Aeros at Grafham it was great to also see local support from 5 southwest RS Aeros at Wimbleball, at the opposite side of the country.
Two home Wimbleball boats were joined by visitors from Roadford, Salcombe and Bradford on Avon. With cold but sheltered conditions all but one RS Aero opted for their 9 rigs. A long lap of the lake allowed plenty of space for the 51 starters for the 3 hour pursuit marathon on their pretty Exmoor venue.
Congratulations to Dan Bridger of Salcombe who competed in all three of the Southwest Series events at Starcross, Roadford and Wimbleball and through sticking with his 9 rig over a range of conditions he was rewarded for his persistency with 5th place overall in the series.
