Sail Sandy, Sandringham YC, Melbourne, Australia
17/10/2015 - 18/10/2015

Write-Up

The heat is turning up again in Australia and they had a great time with eight RS Aeros entered at SandringhamYC, Melbourne. They raced on handicap against RS200s, RS100s and a Contender which all proved to me a pretty good mix. A few more races and I think Jessica might have won, she certainly looked to be making a comeback! Thanks to Ron for the report.

Ron Fergusson reports;
RS Aeros took home handsome trophies for first and third in the "RS Classes / Contender division" (RS Aeros, RS100 & RS200 all off the same start - Div.11) at Sail Sandy (Australia). Very pleased with my very bling trophy for third.
Congratulations to Brian Case (RS Aero 7) for a dominant result, although we all had a piece of race leads at various times. Jessica Case (RS Aero 5) did particularly well in today's gorgeous sailing conditions: 6,3,1,2 on yardstick. Jacqui Lokum (RS Aero 5) also scored a best result '5' on yardstick today, while Andrew Giles (RS Aero 9), used more to lake sailing, dropped back a little, but not much, in the stronger winds and chop. Matthew Geake (RS Aero 7) had responsibilities elsewhere today, but would surely have been in the mix in today's conditions.

So in summary, this weekend was great proof for us in Australia that the RS Aero 5, 7 & 9 provides great fun and competition in mixed fleet racing. Tom Pearce didn't get on the water, I think he's been busy selling more boats. He did take a photo or two for report / newsletter later.
