Danny McNelis

Sad news from Ireland.
 
Danny McNelis of Greystones was the first RS Aero owner in Ireland. At 63 and a leg amputee, he was an inspiration worldwide in the RS Aero’s 'early days' for his obvious enjoyment and enthusiasm following a windy test sail on Dublin Bay.
After a battle with cancer, Danny passed away peacefully on Tuesday night.
 
A good few of the 73 competitors at the recent RS Aero UK Nationals were returning to sailing/competition due to their enjoyment of the RS Aero. All had a great time and with 4.5 thousand views on Danny’s video he certainly played a part in motivating sailors to get out there.
