Lee on Solent SC has a good fleet of RS Aeros and a fantastic sailing area in the central Solent. They usually enjoy excellent waves to race and train in!

Here are the details from Sammy;

RS Aero UK Youth Team Winter Training 2023/24
The 2023/24 RS Aero UK Youth Team is now taking sign-ups ready for the winter season!
This year includes training with World Class Coaches, Online talks from 2 world renowned coaches and 2 UK Youth Championships entries (2023 & 2024), all this alongside a busy social program! A HUGE shout out to the reinvestment from the RS Aero UK Class Association to make the youth team more accessible and affordable to all. 

THE LOCATIONS
The RS Aero Youth Team 2023/24 will be visiting 7 different locations over 7 months across highly RS Aero populated areas of the country. A mix of coastal and inland venues will allow sailors to develop skills for all types of sailing. These locations are: Lymington Town SC, Burghfield SC, Wimbleball SC, Paignton SC, Hayling Island SC, Oxford SC and Lee-on Solent SC!

7/8th October - Lymington Town SC, Hants
25/26th November - Burghfield SC, Berks - RS Aero UK Youth Champs 2023
2/3rd December - Wimbleball SC, Somerset

ON THE WATER TRAINING 
Each weekend will have a title or question that will be a focus for the squad. The sessions will be a mixture of boat handling skills, racing tactics and much more with the goal to build up to a summer of championship racing.

ONLINE TALKS
Members of the team will receive access to 2 online talks, one from Mark Rushall, a world class sailing coach who has been working with the British Sailing team since 2006 and the other from Jon Emmett, a professional coach and expert dinghy sailor who has won National, European and World championships in his single handed dinghy. 

THE COACHES
Over the last few years the class has built strong bonds with two coaches, Sammy IJ and George Cousins, who will continue to lead the Youth Team in 2023/24. They will be assisted by specialist elite coaches who will attend each weekend and give insight into their specific strengths to the 2023/24 Team. 

THE COST
We have been incredibly lucky for 2023/24 to again get some EPIC funding from the RS Aero UK Class Association to support the 2023/24 season meaning the cost has remained as last year! The cost for the 5 weekends of on water training, 2 online seminars and 2 UK Youth Championship entries will be £550 per sailor

The 'Signal Station' clubhouse is next to their dinghy park on the sea front and their main building is to the west on the promenade. Both have been recently refurbished and enjoy fantastic views over the Solent.

 

Please use Elmore car park, 75m east of Lee on Solent SC's Signal Station club house.

Wheel your RS Aeros and trailers along the level sea front path to the club and trailers can then be accommodated either at the top of the slipway or in the dinghy park.

 

All car parks including Elmore Road use the MiPermit app. The street parking is the RingGo app.

There are about 12 free spaces outside the club too.

 

The on-site camping may be possible but is still work in progress at the moment. 
Our closest campsite, excluding what we may set up near the club is Kingfisher

There is also a Premier Inn a short drive away in Gosport, which is probably the better option for convenience.

There is also a Travel Lodge on Gosport High Street.
