🏁 RS Aero UK Spring Championships 2026 🇬🇧 🏆

Island Barn Reservoir Sailing Club was delighted to host the RS Aero UK Spring Championships 2026, welcoming 15 sailors from across the South East and beyond for a fantastic day of close racing, shifting conditions, and great camaraderie both on and off the water.

🌬️ Testing Inland Conditions
The reservoir served up classic inland sailing conditions, with the wind ranging from 7 to 12 knots throughout the day. Shifty breezes and varying pressure kept sailors on their toes and made for some exciting tactical racing.

⛵ 15 Sailors, 4 Rig Sizes
Competitors raced across four different RS Aero rig sizes, showcasing the versatility of the class and bringing together sailors of all ages and sizes in one highly competitive fleet.

🏁 Five-Race Series 🌅 2 races before lunch ☀️ 3 races after lunch

The race team kept the event running smoothly, delivering a full and varied championship series with plenty of close battles and position changes throughout the fleet.

🍽️ Fantastic Food and Hospitality
A huge thank you to our wonderful catering team, who provided a delicious lunch, followed by tea and cakes later in the afternoon. Even better, all of this was included in the entry fee and was greatly appreciated by everyone ashore! 🍰☕
