🏁 German Open RS Aero 6 – Steinhuder Meer, Germany ⛵🇩🇪

The 2026 German Open RS Aero 6 took place over 20–21 June at Steinhuder Meer, hosted by Baltische Segler Vereinigung (BSV). Fourteen competitors from across Germany and the Czech Republic lined up for three races in what proved to be a closely fought championship. The event formed part of the traditional Halbmodell regatta weekend and the German RS Aero circuit.

With no discard available, consistency was key throughout the series. Jan Balke (YCT) claimed the German Open title with an impressive finish of 3, 6, 1 to take victory on 10 points. Juliane Barthel (SCD) matched Balke's total on points but finished second on countback after a strong and consistent series of 5, 3, 2. Julian Kähler (SKU / LYC) completed the podium in third, having won the opening race.

The racing was exceptionally close at the front of the fleet, with just three points separating second through fourth place. Bernadette Zipfel (HSC) narrowly missed out on the podium, while Jana Scherbarth (HSC) secured fifth overall.

Race honours were shared between the podium sailors, with Julian Kähler taking Race 1, Juliane Barthel winning Race 2 and Jan Balke sealing the championship with victory in Race 3.
