On the 1-3rd October the German RS Aero Nordrhein-Westfalen State state championship took place at the Kanu Segel Club Hemer with 16 keen sailors registered for the regatta.
The weather forecast for the weekend promised a lot of wind with gusts of up to 42kn for Sunday. The races were challenging for the participants due to the strong gusts and shifts. The gusty wind was also evident ashore when choosing the sails, with all but four participants opting for their smaller RS Aero 5 rig.
